Sensor Signal Interfaces
The Sensor Signal Interfaces (SSI) incorporate a sophisticated analog-frontend, including a programmable amplification and an analog sampling architecture.
With a high level of integration and smart power architecture, the SSI MUSic family products can dramatically reduce the average power consumption of an entire sensor interface system and hence enable "pink" system solutions. This is shown e.g. by an average ultra-low power consumption of only 25-to-30 µWatts during normal operations and less than 1µW in idle mode.
In addition to the common signal measurement mode the SSI MUSic family products support a temperature measurement mode and an auto-zero mode, which allows monitoring long-term stability drifts, and offsets for compensation and correction purposes.
The SSIs contain an on-chip clock generator and an EEPROM to store non-volatile configuration data, calibration coefficients, and an optional user programmable ID. An serial interface connects the ZMD21013 to the customer's specific external system environment (e.g. to a microcontroller, DSP, etc.). Robust for outdoor use, the products of the SSI MUSic family can operate over a temperature range of up to -25°C to +85°C.
