Sensor Signal Conditioner - Evaluation Tools

SSC_Evaluation_Kits_DataSheet_Rev_2_13.jpg

Brief Description

The modular Sensor Signal Conditioner (SSC) evaluation kits are designed to get an overview about the functions and the configuration options of the ZMDI’s SSC IC family. The kits provide support for newcomers and experienced users in evaluating ZMDI’s SSC ICs. For the evaluation of different SSC only the IC specific SSC evaluation board and software has to be swapped.
The SSC evaluation board allows a simple-to-install-evaluation of ZMDI’s SSC matching with this board. All ICs are connected via a common ZIF-socket for simple IC interchange.
On board LED’s display the status of power supply and (depending on SSC) the status of digital outputs (e.g. ALARM 1/2 at ZSC31050). Several strips allow the access to all signal I/O-lines of the SSC for a simple system check.
Screw terminals can be used to connect real sensor elements. First tests and evaluation of SSC can be done with a Sensor Replacement Board.

SSC Overview - Modular Evaluation Kit
Overview of ZMDI's Modular Sensor Signal Conditioner Evaluation Tools

The modular Evaluation Kit is currently available for ZSC31010, ZSC31014, ZSC31015, ZSC31050, ZSC31150, ZSC31210 and ZSSC3053.

Features

  • SSC Communication Board is used in  every kit for interfacing communication between SSC and PC
  • All kits include also USB cable, 5 IC samples, SSC Test Board and DVD containing software & documents and start-up info.
  • Self-explaining graphical user interfaces allow controlling the following functions:
    • IC configuration including adjustment of gain-factor, zero-point-shift, temperature compensation reference, signal resolution, sample rate, output options, measurement regime, clamp limits, etc.
    • Reading and programming of EEPROM and CMC (calibration micro controller) registers
    • Display of the unconditioned and of the conditioned bridge sensor and temperature sensor signals
    • By using the SSC Test Board an SSC application circuit can be assembled and evaluated very easy
    • Experimental semi-automatic calibration covering measurements, calibration coefficients calculation and EEPROM programming

Benefit

  •  Power supply via USB or external power supply
  • “plug & play” – capability
  • Simple interchange of SSC IC (ZIF socket)
  • Screw terminal for external bridge sensor  element or sensor replacement board
  • All interfaces (I²C, SPI, Onewire (ZACwire), LIN etc.) and additional functionality for SSC in SSC Communication Board implementet
