Thilo von Selchow (CEO)
Thilo von Selchow has been CEO & President of ZMD AG since 1999. He turned the company from a struggling state owned enterprise into a growing global Fabless player with Focus on Analogue mixed signal semiconductors for Sensors and Actuators in the field of Energy Efficiency.
Between 1991 and 1999 he served several Managing Director-. and Chairman positions in the Heitkamp & Thumann Group. Under his leadership the Battery Component Group of H&T became world market leader in that specific segement. (€ 175 mio Revenue).
Between 1990 and 1991, he was Investment Manager in the Matuschka Group’s Private Equity Fund; at that time Europe’s largest MBO fund (€ 250 mio). Main activity was the BFM AG investing specifically into SME’s in Europe.
Thilo holds a degree in Economics from the University of Munich.
In 1991 he also attended the Harvard Summer School in Boston.
Also Thilo is a cofounder of “Silicon Saxony e.V.”, Europe’s largest microelectronics cluster and has been the association’s President for six years.
He serves as Chairman of the Board at Novaled AG a leading startup company in Dresden in the Field of OLED (organic LED) Technology and products.
He is advisor to the Microelectronics Group of the Fraunhofer Association, a leading German Research Institute (€ 1,4 bn Revenue).

Steffen Wollek (CFO)
Before Steffen Wollek joined ZMDI in March 2005 as Head of Finance, Controlling & Treasury, he has been working for several SMEs in Berlin, basically being responsible for Corporate Finance, International Accounting & Controlling. He studied at the Technische Universität Berlin and at the University of Berkeley in California and holds a Diploma in Business Administration. After successfully running his own start-up Steffen has been working with Wollert-Elmendorff Deutsche Industrie-Treuhand GmbH for four years, which later became a member of Deloitte & Touche, one of the big four international auditing companies. During these years he gained experience with well-known international companies such as BASF, Höchst, Philipp Holzmann, DZ Bank and the Treuhand-Anstalt.
In 1997 Steffen became Sales and Financial Controller at KAISER KWO Kabel in Berlin (a Joint Venture of BICC and Draka with 600 employees and € 130 million turnover) and was later appointed Head of Finance, IT and Procurement where he gained valuable experience in restructuring an engineering driven company.
After a short intermezzo with the KRONE Group, a telecommunication company in Berlin (today ADC), Steffen continued his career in 2002 with BIOTRONIK, a pacemaker company in Berlin, founded in the early sixties, with over 3.000 employees, 60 foreign subsidiaries worldwide and € 500 million turnover where he served as Director of Finance & Controlling.
In 2007 Steffen Wollek became CFO of ZMDI. Since then he is also responsible for IT, Procurement and Logistics. Since 2009 Steffen Wollek is member of the executive board.
